Pickler was born Kellie dawn Pickler 28 June 1986. Pickler had a difficult childhood. At the age of two, her mother abandoned her to get away from her abusive husband. Her return to the life of Pickler in 1995, and took custody of her. However, things didn't work out the way she had hoped. When she turned 12, the court gave back Pickler to her grandparents whom she grew up with. Pickler was unable to parent her children when they were absent. In absence of parents Pickler had no time to go to school. Instead she started learning how to take care of her family members at a younger time. Pickler was a member of the teams for cheerleading in both high school and middle school. She graduated in 2004 in 2004 from North Stanly High School. Pickler is also a contestant in a beauty pageant. She was crowned Miss Stanly Country.
